In front of the rarefaction of the halieutic resources owed partially to the overfishing, ecolabels multiply and join the politics of sustainable and environment-friendly fishing of the maritime industries.
Within this background, POLARIS leads together with EPAX a sustainable policy on the marine resources and both companies are certified by FRIEND OF THE SEA®.

FRIEND OF THE SEA®

Friend of the Sea® is a non-profit and non-governmental organization which dedicates itself to the conservation of the marine habitat. It is at present the biggest world organization for the certification of the sustainable products of the sea, it estimated more than 10 million tons of wild catch and 500,000 million tons of farming products.


The Friend of the Sea® conformity criteria are the following ones:

. The product should not result from over-exploited stocks (or even less from depleted or not estimated or recovering stocks)

· The fishing method should not impact on sea bed

· The fishing method must be selective in order to guarantee a secondary fishing below the world average.

A sustainable environment and the conservation of the marine world appear among the priorities of POLARIS and EPAX. The partnership with FRIEND OF THE SEA® testifies of this commitment in a long-lasting operation.
